Programmes

Explore our core programmes.

2s and 4s Music

‘2s and 4s’ is a series of live music concerts brought to you by Bertha Spaces NPC. Some of the offerings serve to answer the question: what new activists are being modeled and explored by musicians who sit at the intersection of social change and production?

Partners Forum

The Partners’ Forum is a quarterly gathering that brings together partners, tenants, and regular space users to network, collaborate, and share ideas. Held at the Activist Cafe, it creates a space for activists to connect, strengthen their work, and help shape a responsive, collaborative Bertha House community.

Brown Bag

The Brown Bag Series brings together new and existing members for open conversations on pressing social justice issues. By creating space for dialogue, solidarity, and collaboration, the series strengthens Bertha House as a hub for organisations working to drive social change in Cape Town.

Monthly Film Screenings

Bertha House Film Screenings feature African films that amplify underrepresented voices and explore themes of social justice. Through storytelling and discussion, the screenings create space for reflection, connection, and collective action within our community.

Bertha House Community Reserve

The Bertha House Community Reserve supports qualifying activist and community groups to cover expenses associated with hosting events. Rooted in spatial justice, we help bring your programming to life.

The reserve supports activist and community groups that are interested in using the space but lack the financial resources to do so. To qualify, groups must be not-for-profit and have an annual budget of R1 million or less.
